Made from the mastic tree or lentisk – scientific name: Pistacia Lentiscus var. Chia (of the Anacardiaceous family), is an evergreen shrub in Chios in the Mediterranean. Researchers have studied that when mastiha oil has been incorporated in the growth medium, it can delay the growth rate but also eliminate microbes, bacteria, and pathogenic microorganisms. The results of such studies confirm the important antimicrobial and antifungal action of mastiha oil.
